In this 5-day workshop Anna Schaum merges the healing properties of nature and music, as she introduces TuneUp!— a mindfulness-in-action practice that demonstrates how to achieve internal harmony through the metaphor of tuning of musical instrument.

Achieving harmony is not about eliminating tension, but about working with it, understanding the range, and making constant adjustments it in order to achieve and maintain the perfect pitch. It is only through working with the tension that the instrument is ready to receive the pressures from the fingers and the bow, and ready to make music.

In order to know if you are out of tune, you must first be able to recognize when you are in tune. The first phase of this 5-day workshop focuses on achieving relaxation in the Forest Spa- massage, sauna, and soaking in the onsen, preparing your mind for tuning. The second phase focusses on understanding the pitch, vibration and resonance of your own body and learning tools to keep it in tune. The third phase is understanding your tempo, how to adjust it, when and when not to adjust it harmonize with others.

 Wellness, Recovery & Transitioning

Recovering from an illness requires an adjusted lifestyle. Learn techniques to live a new and healthier way, enhancing recovery. Explore different ways to strengthen your mind, body and soul through meditation, Qigong, and Forest Yoga— making room for your marriage, career, and/or parenthood to co-exist and thrive

Significant life transitions often alter our experience of the world around us.  This can be very disorienting but it can also be an invitation to possibility- that we might be able to open to our lives more fully, be present with what is, and uncover tremendous compassion for ourselves and others.

In truth, life possesses an inherent uncertainty to it and my passion in my work is being able to walk with people as they get to know themselves in a deeper way and perhaps come to trust the fullness of their authentic experience.

Phase 1 | Achieving Relaxation

Day 1 and 2 will focus on achieving relaxation through yoga, qigong, forest bathing and in the Forest Spa- massage, sauna, and soaking in the onsen.

Phase 2 | Transitioning

Days 3, 4 and 5 will focus on the exploration of wellness as a lifestyle through food, exercise, and meditation as well as group and individual therapy sessions.

Understanding Your Privilege & Power in Leadership Roles

Recognizing that the word privilege can often take on a different meaning in regards to leadership, it’s vital to examine the concept if we’re looking to make our workspaces equitable and inclusive.

Though people may shy away from discussions about privilege in leadership spaces, becoming a great leader means being able to navigate those responsibilities and conversations even when they make you uncomfortable.

  • Understand Privilege

  • Own Your Privilege

  • Go Beyond Diversity

Embracing your Power to Make Change

Now that you understand your privilege and power, use it to make a difference in the world. Identify areas where and how you can make an impact.
